MAHAKALYANI® BADRI A2 COW GHEE
Rare Single Origin • Pure Himalayan Badri • Slow Hand-Churned Bilona
**Not just ghee from the Himalayas.
Ghee shaped by the Himalayas.**
There are foods that simply fill a kitchen. And then there are foods that carry a sense of place, tradition and time.
Mahakalyani Badri A2 Cow Ghee begins with milk from indigenous Himalayan Badri Desi A2 cows of Uttarakhand, a rare mountain cattle heritage naturally adapted to the Himalayan landscape.
Traditionally, these hardy Pahadi cows forage across their mountain environment, feeding on the native grasses, herbs and shrubs of the Himalayan ecosystem. The flora, soil, altitude and natural environment are an inseparable part of the story behind this distinctive Himalayan dairy tradition.
We then follow the age-old Bilona method—culturing milk into curd, slowly hand-churning the curd to obtain makkhan, and carefully clarifying that butter into golden ghee.
Milk → Curd → Hand-Churned Makkhan → Ghee
No rushing.
No unnecessary shortcuts.
Just patience, craftsmanship and a tradition worth preserving.
🌿 THE HIMALAYAN DIFFERENCE
Rare Single Origin
Our ghee celebrates the distinctive heritage of Himalayan Badri cattle and Uttarakhand, rather than treating origin as merely another label.
Indigenous Badri A2 Cows
Badri cows are an indigenous Himalayan cattle breed traditionally associated with the hills of Uttarakhand and naturally adapted to its rugged terrain and local environment.
Connected to Himalayan Flora
Badri cows traditionally forage on the diverse grasses, herbs and shrubs available within their mountain environment—an important part of their relationship with the Himalayan ecosystem.
Slow Hand-Churned Bilona
Traditional curd is churned to separate makkhan, which is then slowly clarified into ghee. This time-honoured process gives traditionally prepared ghee its characteristic aroma, colour and richness.
Golden, Aromatic & Naturally Rich
A beautifully fragrant ghee made to bring depth and warmth to the simplest of meals.
🧈 THE GOODNESS OF TRADITIONAL GHEE
Ghee has held a special place in Indian kitchens and traditional food culture for generations.
As a concentrated dairy fat, ghee provides energy and naturally occurring fat-soluble vitamins, while its milk-fat composition includes naturally occurring fatty acids. Its nutritional composition can vary according to the milk source, cattle diet and production process.
But some of its greatest qualities are beautifully simple:
Rich flavour.
Wonderful aroma.
Versatility.
And the ability to make everyday food feel special.

🏔️ FROM THE MOUNTAINS, WITH PURPOSE
At International Shiva Tribe Foundation (ISTF), we believe preserving indigenous cows should not depend on charity alone.
It should also have an economic foundation.
Our Gau Economics philosophy explores how responsible cow-based enterprises can create greater value for indigenous cattle while supporting farmers, rural families and village economies.
The idea is simple:
Create value for the cow → create livelihoods for the farmer → strengthen the rural economy → make continued cow care more sustainable.
Through this philosophy, Mahakalyani aims to be part of a larger ecosystem supporting Gau Raksha, rural livelihoods and community prosperity.
Because when caring for the cow can also sustain a livelihood, protection becomes part of the economy—not just an act of charity.
🤍 WHY MAHAKALYANI?
Because we believe the best products should carry something beyond their ingredients.
They should carry the land they come from.
The animals behind them.
The hands that make them.
And the people whose lives they can touch.
A jar of Mahakalyani Badri Ghee represents a journey:
Himalayan Pastures → Badri Cows → Traditional Bilona → Rural Livelihoods → Your Family
